The applicant will be issued a Letter of Subscription, which must be signed by a Union Contractor and returned to a Carpenters Local Union closest to your home. The Letter of Subscription will be the ONLY form of indenture.
The Applicant will sign an Apprentice Agreement and will receive a copy of the program Rules and Regulations.
The apprentice with previous work or school experience in the Carpenter Trade must furnish proof (letter from a previous contractor or school transcripts).
GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION
The apprentice will furnish his or her own tools. The apprentice will be scheduled to school 3 months after he/she has indentured into the program. Each class is for one (1) week, forty (40) hours every three months. The Apprentice will be required to purchase books relating to training. The apprentice must verify completion of a Red Cross/First Aid Multimedia course within one year from the date of indenture into the program. The Apprenticeship Training Program for Carpenters is a four (4) year program. The first period Apprentice wage rate is 40% of journeyman scale. The program is approved for on-the-job training benefits for veterans who qualify.
This program DOES NOT provide for summer of part time employment.
